Welcome to Macan ché, your tropical oasis in the heart of the Yucatán. We are located in the charming city of Izamal, known as the "Yellow City" and the "City of Three Cultures" for the Mayan, Spanish and Meztiso cultures which thrive here.
Macan ché offers the perfect location for your home base as you visit many of the sites in the Yucatán including Chichén Itzá only 45 minutes away by car. Or, if you're en route and need a breath of peace on your journey, lounge by the natural rock-bottom pool, enjoy a massage or yoga class, or simply relax in the beautiful gardens at Macan ché.
"We came for one night and kept saying 'one more night', staying for four. I felt I was looking into paradise when the door opened. Izamal has been a pleasure with interesting fairs, churches, pyramids, and a street dance. And Macan ché—the wonderful home to return to. "
—John and Anne from Bandera, Texas, USA

Emily Navar and Alfred Rordame are the owners of Hotel Macan ché Bed & Breakfast. In September 2005 they moved to the Yucatán to operate the hotel in the colonial city of Izamal. In addition to hosting guests from around the world, their vision is to offer a space for group and individual retreats where participants can explore their self study surrounded by the archeological wonders of the Mundo Maya (Mayan World).

Macan ché is proud to offer Yoga classes, Ayurvedic consultations, Jyotish (astrological) readings and more...
Emily and Alfred have long been students of three sister sciences originating in India- Yoga, Ayurveda, and Jyotish. They bring to Mexico their knowledge of these healing arts and their application in restoring health and wellness. Take time in your vacation to nourish yourself by enjoying a tailored yoga class. Learn how to live according to your individual constitution and prevent illness through the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda. Have Alfred read your vedic chart to explore yourself and discover what the stars say about your personal make up and tendencies. Yoga classes are taught privately or in a group. Ayurvedic consultations and Jyotish (astrological) readings are done privately. All services can be arranged in advance through email or on arrival (some advance notice may be necessary).
We also offer a full range of spa services to indulge your senses such as massage, temascal (Mayan sauna), and pedicures and manicures. See our amenities page for more information.

Hotel Macan ché Restaurant
The restaurant at Macan ché has now been open for about a year and a half and we're getting great feedback from our guests and visitors. In order to provide a fine dining experience, we work with the freshest possible ingredients and use those foods at the peak of their season.
We offer a mix of Yucatecan-influenced cuisine and selections from the best cuisine of the world. You can view our menu here. We also offer nightly specials and if you're in the mood for something really special, look for our multi-course meals with wine pairings. These are generally offered two to three times a year on special occasions. The folks at this year's Christmas dinner were knocked off their feet.
We've also immodestly nominated ourselves in the latest YucatanLiving Reader's Poll for "Best Fine Dining Experience Around Merida." If you've enjoyed a great meal here and care to give us a vote, just follow this link.
Please give at least an hour's notice so that we may prepare your meal "just for you." If you're not staying with us, please call us at 988-954-0287 to reserve your space and preorder. We are serving between 5pm and 10pm 6 days per week.
